This paper enables students to understand the theological and historical foundation of the
revision of the Constitution – Te Pouhere to structure the Anglican Church in three Tikanga.
Students will outline a theological foundation of partnership, the history of Anglicans in
Aotearoa with reference to relationships between Māori and Pakeha and discuss the revision
of the Constitution as a response to the Treaty of Waitangi and theological principles.
