The Heart’s Time by Janet Morley 2011

A day-by-day Lent book aimed at the individual reader, in which a poem appropriate to the themes of the season is read, along with a short reflection from the editor and a couple of questions to ponder. The purpose is to use a poetic text as the basis for ‘slow reflection’ during Lent and Eastertide.

Feasting on the Word Lenten Companion 2014

This new volume in the Feasting on the Word series will serve as an all-in-one pastor’s companion for Lent and Holy Week, providing worship materials and sermon preparation tools for both lectionary and non-lectionary preachers. In keeping with other Feasting on the Word resources, four essays provide theological, pastoral, exegetical, and homiletical perspectives on an Old Testament and a Gospel text for each Sunday. A complete order of service is provided for each of the Sundays in Lent, plus Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and Easter Sunday. Hymn suggestions, midweek services, and children’s sermon suggestions make this an invaluable resource for the season of Lent.

Three complete sessions for Lent, Holy Week and Easter, together with a wealth of activities to extend the range of excitingly messy activities for your Messy Church – creative prayers, games, food, activities and ideas for organising an Easter trail. Activity templates and a session planning grid are included.

This book contains many suggestions to help with the planning and presentation of all-age Lent and Easter services and activities. There are games, prayers, activities for family groups, talk suggestions and more!
